The Praxis Redemptive Imagination Summit: An Annual Ideas Festival

The Big Idea

The Praxis Redemptive Imagination Summit brings together founders, mentors, philanthropists, and investors for vibrant conversation at the intersection of theology, culture, and entrepreneurship.

At its core, the Summit is a living demonstration of praxis  (faith in action)— the beauty of the gathering is that the cultural and theological ideas offered up are actually tested, proven, and refined in the work of hundreds of ventures, institutions, and projects represented in the room. The Summit is a place for both formation and commissioning into the world as redemptive entrepreneurs.

Attendees explore the Redemptive Frame through a variety of plenary, breakout, and experience sessions with our community members. Last year, this included the following main stage talks:

Redemptive Strategy

  • Redemptive Strategy with Shiao-Yin Kuik, The Thought Collective
  • Innovating Shelter with Brett Hagler, New Story and Evan Loomis, ICON
  • Managing Technology with Sean Clifford, Canopy
  • Caring for Our Caregivers with Jessica Kim, IANACare

    Redemptive Operations

  • Redemptive Operations with David Weekley, David Weekley Homes
  • Redemptive Capital with Debbie McCoy, Sustainable and Impact Investing
  • Dignity in Manufacturing with John Kramer, Cambridge Engineering

    Redemptive Leadership

  • Sacred Pace with Terry Looper, Texon
  • What is Redemption? with Andy Crouch, Praxis
  • Ordering the Capital of Our Lives with Jon Tyson, Church of the City

Creative Response breakouts form the middle of the Summit, where participants explore the “redemptive edges” of such topics as:

    • Aging, Illness, & the End of Life
    • Pursuing the Redemptive Edge of Fashion
    • Navigating Alternative Realities: Virtual, Augmented, & Mixed
    • Criminal and Legal Justice Reform
    • Intelligent Machines & the New World of Work
    • Seed Investing: The Unique Role of Partnership with Founders
    • Place and Space: Impact Through the Built Environment

    Who's invited?

We invite three hundred proven founders, investors, and thought leaders from varied sectors to gather for three days north of New York City.

We prioritize the active Praxis community first—alumni, entrepreneurs, investors, philanthropists, and thought leaders invested in expanding the practice of Redemptive Entrepreneurship.

    Location: Tarrytown, New York

Summit attendees will have a chance to witness the finale to our Business Accelerator Program, where fellows pitch their ventures and engage one-on-one during open house showcases. They’ll also hear from our Venture Lab Entrepreneurs-in-Residence on the redemptive framework that guides the new ventures they are developing.

    Date: May 6-8, 2020
