Teresa founded Clean Start after she was wrongly imprisoned with her then three-month-old daughter. Her firsthand experience and the plight of women in prison, along with their children, inspired her to commit to supporting hundreds of women leaving prison to successfully reintegrate into society. Since 2015, Teresa has been steering socioeconomic transformation and social justice reforms in Kenya and across the African continent through strategic leadership. Teresa is a devoted people leader and a community-centric social entrepreneur.
