Jadesola Adedeji is a social entrepreneur with a dream of changing what education looks like in Nigeria by using innovative, hands-on educational tools and programs to equip children and youth with essential 21st century skills needed to compete in the future workplace. After a 20-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, her foray into education and skills development was born out of a desire to engage her own children, and by extension, other children in her community, in creative and inspiring enrichment programs that teach them “how” to think, not “what” to think.
STEM METS Resources is a social enterprise focused on bridging the 21st century skills gap within the Nigerian educational system. STEM METS provides hands-on and project-based training programs to children ages 3 to 16, using Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) based programs to teach critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. The knowledge of these skills equips each Nigerian child with the relevant preparation required to compete in the present and future global workplace and contribute to the economic development of Nigeria. To date, over 50 workshops and 5,000 learners have accessed STEM METS programs across southwest Nigeria.
