Jess loves working with entrepreneurs to discover their calling and the purpose that fuels their work. She is a Stanford instructor where she recently helped reimagine a future of higher ed in which students “declare a mission, not a major.” As founder of Entrepreneurs by Design, she loves igniting entrepreneurs through design thinking. During her years at IDEO, she kickstarted its design for social impact domain and its open-source toolkit for social entrepreneurs around the globe. One of her greatest joys has been launching the Entrepreneurship program and serving as Dean of Students at a pan-African startup school in Johannesburg. Her foundation for faith + business comes from her time with REP: Repurposing Business—Transforming Society. She can often be found with skilsaw in hand, building things in her backyard with her husband Bart (inaugural Praxis fellow) and two boys, five and one.
