Alana Ackerson

Dr. Alana Ackerson is an entrepreneur, board member and investor in technology, finance and theology. Alana has most recently served as Vice President of SoFi, a modern finance company that is fueling the shift to a bankless world, and has previously led several investment firms in strategy, operations, and asset raising. Alana served as CEO of The Thiel Foundation, where she led the organization’s efforts to support the next-generation of entrepreneurs and to promote radical scientific and technological innovations. Alana is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the Boards of Opportunity International, the Association of Women in Alternative Investing, and San Francisco Theological Seminary (SFTS).  Alana holds a B.A. with Honors in Science, Technology and Society from Stanford, an M.A. in Philosophical and Systematic Theology from the GTU, Berkeley, and a Doctorate of Ministry from SFTS, where she also earned a Diploma in Spiritual Direction. She is a candidate for a Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford. Alana is currently writing a book on the intersection of technology and faith.
