Melissa is a current senior at Gordon College. She won 2nd place at Gordon's Social Venture Challenge where she and a couple of friends launched a new product for the makeup industry. She has valuable experience working with at risk children and their families in Colombia. Today she holds numerous leadership positions such as resident advisor and peer mentor for first year college students. She is an Education/Linguistics major and Speech Pathology minor. She is passionate about helping others and hopes to use her degree to give a voice to the voiceless. Melissa is excited to apprentice with Nomi Network and see Proverbs 31:8 come to life through it.
Melissa will be apprenticing alongside Alissa Moore and Diana Mao of Nomi Network. She is a 2016 Praxis Academy alumna.
Nomi Network aims to build a sustainable global supply chain and increase the financial independence of vulnerable and at-risk women. This is accomplished by providing targeted technical and entrepreneurship training, designing and producing market-ready products, and linking products made by these women to the global marketplace. Nomi has employed and trained over 500 women. With the launch of their Advanced Technical Training Fashion Incubator in Cambodia and their Production and Innovation Center in India, they are poised to serve thousands more.
