Vanessa Garrison works to improve health outcomes and the quality of life for Black women and girls. Prior to co-founding GirlTrek, she served currently and formerly incarcerated women. She’s worked in digital media management for the world’s most recognizable news and entertainment brands, including CNN, TNT and Sports Illustrated. She’s been featured on CNN, in The Washington Post and named a "Health Hero" by Essence Magazine. And, received social innovation fellowships from Teach For America, Echoing Green, and the Aspen Institute. Vanessa earned a Bachelor of Arts in World Arts & Cultures from the University of California, Los Angeles.
