Mallory graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University; additionally, she holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, as well as a Ph.D. in Education from Oxford University, which she attended as a U.S. Rhodes Scholar. Mallory was a 2011 Teach for America corps member, serving as a high school Spanish teacher in the Anacostia Ward of Washington, DC. She now lives with her husband, Chase, and younger sister, Rachel, in Menlo Park, CA.

Co-created with young people and their families, Oxford Day Academy is a public charter high school in San Mateo County, California. Opened in fall 2017, its mission is to engage and develop intelligent, empathetic young leaders with the character, ability, and passion they need to create positive change in the world. To achieve this mission, students spend half of their time in the community completing real-world internships, and then use these experiences to design think their way through social issues that matter most to them. Teachers use Oxford-style tutorials to connect academics with these service projects.
