Seed Effect is a Christ-centered, nonprofit economic development organization. Our mission is to plant the seeds that overcome poverty by providing access to economic empowerment, education, and spiritual discipleship. We are committed to bringing Jesus and economic empowerment to the hard places where most others won’t go. Seed Effect launched in South Sudan in 2009, which is now the most fragile country in the world and the source of the world’s fastest growing refugee crisis. Civil war in South Sudan led Seed Effect to pivot its operations to Uganda in 2017 to serve South Sudanese refugees through a new savings-led microfinance program. Seed Effect has empowered over 4,000 people through its savings and microloan programs since inception in 2009.
