Emily Heger is currently serving as Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and AT&T's Equal Justice Works Fellow at Human Rights Initiative. Her project combats violence against women and girls worldwide – both by representing those seeking asylum in the United States and also by broadening U.S. asylum law for survivors of gender-based persecution. Prior, she served as the Chief Operating Office of Akola Project. Heger holds a J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
