Angela Hurtado is the Vice President, COO and Co-Founder of HoPe. Angela is a social entrepreneur, community leader and motivational speaker. Born in Colombia, Angela arrived to the US at the young age of 8. Angela knows firsthand the struggles many students face to graduate high school and go to college, and strives each day to help students reach their goals. Angela earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Georgia Gwinnett College. Angela was recently honored as a "40 Under 40" by the Atlanta Business Chronicle and recognized as one of "The Top 50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia" by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She is a GPEE Education Policy Fellow, a Praxis Nonprofit Fellow Alumni, as was recognized as the "Wonderful Woman of the Year" in 2016 by Wealth Horizon. Angela loves God, her husband and family and being engaged with her community. She is a self-proclaimed foodie and strives to be the change she wishes to see in the world. \| David Araya is the Co-founder, President and CEO of HoPe (Hispanic Organization Promoting Education), Inc. Born in Costa Rica, David immigrated to the US at the young age of 5. Immersed and personally impacted by the day to day struggles of immigrant youth in America, David co-founded HoPe at the age of 18 to provide his peers a pathway to-and-through high school and college. Within 10 years, HoPe has expanded its youth leadership development and educational attainment programming to 60 high school in Georgia reaching over 4000 families yearly and achieving a 100% high school graduation rate. David has been recognized by the White House for the work HoPe has achieved in Georgia, and travels the country speaking into the power of youth development, leadership and social entrepreneurship, and educational attainment. David was recently honored as a "40 Under 40" by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, recognized as one of "The Top 50 Most Influential Latino's in Georgia" by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and received the Telemundo Educator Hero Award by Telemundo Atlanta. He is a Praxis Nonprofit Fellow Alumni, LEAD Atlanta Alumni, and currently sits on the Hispanic Scholarship Fund Advisory Board. David's priorities in life are faith, family, and service, and his greatest joys are his wife and two daughters.
